John V. Dunne, MD, FACS, FACPh,  was awarded Diplomate status within the initial class certified by the American Board of Phlebology. Dr. Dunne is currently the only doctor board certified in Phlebology in Manatee and Sarasota counties. The ABPh administered its charter Board Certification Exam in May 2008. There are now 18 doctors in Florida and 248 doctors nationwide who have earned this designation.

Dr. Dunne (www.erasersinc.com), who is a contributor to Vein Therapy News, has more than 30 years surgical experience and has been practicing as a vein specialist for 19 years. He introduced the first minimally invasive treatment of venous disease to the area in Florida where he practices in 1995.

He established Erasers Body Enhancement Center and Vein Institute in 1999, located in the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, which includes an ICAVL Accredited Vascular Laboratory to medically ultrasound diagnose venous disease
