Vein Clinics of America (VCA), a wholly owned subsidiary of IntegraMed America Inc. (integramed.com), opened its 31st vein clinic location Dec. 8 in Monroeville, Penn., providing the latest in vein disease diagnosis and treatment.
Anthony D’Alessio, M.D., is the practicing physician at the Monroeville office of VCA (veinclinics.com). The office is located at 400 Penn Center Blvd. Appointments can be made by calling toll-free 866-923-8346. “Treatment options for vein disease continue to advance as the use of laser and other non-surgical technologies take on a more prominent role,” VCA Medical Director Ted King, MD, said.
“It is rewarding for both physicians and patients to see the positive results we are able to achieve to cure our patients from the discomfort and pain brought on by this progressive condition.”
Dr. D’Alessio said vein disease is a potentially serious medical condition, which if ignored may result in symptoms such as pain, fatigue, itching, burning and swelling.
Patients may also experience throbbing and restlessness, feeling the need to constantly keep their legs moving. Left untreated by a medical professional, vein disease often worsens and becomes a major health concern.
“Minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of vein disease offer not just an improved quality of life both physically and health-wise, but also afford a greater sense of confidence and well-being to our patients,” Dr. D’Alessio said.
VCA has more than 25 years of experience in the vein care field, specializing in all aspects of vein disease, including varicose veins, spider veins and leg ulcers.
Offering a comprehensive, non-surgical treatment approach, the average patient requires sclerotherapy injection treatment in conjunction with endovenous laser treatment (ELT) to treat the smaller veins.
VCA’s use of sclerotherapy in combination with ELT allows physicians to treat from the smallest spider veins to the largest ropelike varicose veins, including leg ulcers. All procedures are performed in the physician’s office with no surgery or post hospitalization required.
Established in 1981, VCA is the largest medical group in the country dedicated to the non-surgical treatment of vein disorders with 31 vein care centers in 12 states, principally in the Midwest and Southeast.
The physicians of VCA specialize in treating the entire spectrum of vein abnormalities, including varicose veins, spider veins, venous leg ulcers, facial veins, hand veins, Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome and Restless Legs Syndrome resulting from venous reflux.
VCA is based in Downers Grove, Ill., with clinics in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin and operates veinclinics.com, a vein care Internet portal. The company supports its provider networks with state-of-the art information systems; marketing and payer contracting; financial planning, reporting and analysis; organizational planning and development; quality assurance initiatives; human resources administration; and purchasing services. IntegraMed also offers consumer treatment-financing programs and in addition to the vein care Internet portal, operates integramed.com, a fertility Internet portal.
The IntegraMed Fertility network consists of 33 contracted centers in 109 locations across the United States, including 191 physicians and scientists holding doctorates. One of every five IVF procedures in the U.S. is performed in an IntegraMed fertility practice. |
